During the night of 13-February 2021 an earthquake with magnitude of Mw4,0 took place at 02:30 UTC. This earthquake is normal and is because of inflation in Bárðarbunga volcano after the eruption ended in 2015.
There is one of this earthquakes in Bárðarbunga volcano every few months and last earthquake with magnitude Mw3,9 took place on 21-December-2020 in Bárðarbunga volcano. This type of earthquake activity is going to continue in Bárðarbunga volcano for decades until next eruption happens in 20 to 100 years.
A couple of deep (11.6 and 22.1 km) EQs under Katla. Just noting, since the deep ones over M1.0 come pretty rarely. These two were 1.5 and 1.1. And 22.1 km, if that’s correct, is very deep for the activity in Katla’s system overall, at least as far as I can remember..
And Múlakvisl has risen by 40 cm in 3 hours. Not suggesting anything is going on or is related to the EQs in the comment above, just saying while on the subject of Katla.
There is a storm passing over Iceland with heavy rain and snow in mountains and higher parts of Iceland. The weather won’t get better until sometimes next week.

Could next Barda eruption possibly trigger the Laki fissure towards Grimsvotn?
No. But Bárðarbunga volcano is known to erupt in large fissure eruption as happened in the 2014 to 2015 eruption in Holuhraun. I think because of the glacier ice (up to ~600 meter thick) there are almost never eruptions in the main caldera or the main volcano or if they happen are never noticed for that same reason.
