Today (25-September-2020) at 11:37 UTC an earthquake with magnitude of Mw3,7 and this earthquake started an earthquake swarm in this location for the last several hours. At the writing of this article between 80 to 90 earthquakes have taken place at this location. There are no reports about this earthquake having been felt in Grímsey island.

This earthquake swarm is not connected to the earthquake activity on the western part of Tjörnes Fracture Zone. This earthquake swarm is ongoing at the writing of this article.

It was in the news today that people in Grímsey island are indeed tired of this earthquake activity. Not because of this earthquake swarm but rather the fact this earthquake activity has now been going on for months as it started in western part of Tjörnes Fracture Zone on 19-June-2020 and has been ongoing since.
The comment where available for people with registered accounts. But I continue to have problems with spam registration so I disabled the registration again and just opened up the comments. It was just easier than trying to figure out how to block spam registration on my website.
I was trying to stop the occasional comment that told me to stop asking for donations because that was somehow begging in their view. Both here and the Icelandic version of this website (at eldstod.com) so that comment was made by some annoyed Icelander that hates my work here.
