According to news on Rúv. The British government is starting a major research into the ash cloud from Eyjafjallajökull volcano. The size of this research is big and the cost is around 3 million pound. The aim of this research is into how ash cloud behaves, how it spreads and to compare models to reality. This research might also aim to improve satellite detection of ash clouds. But it proved to be not quite reliable in the Eyjafjallajökull volcano eruption that took place in the year 2010.

Wait wait wait… they are gonna toss 3 million pounds at studying the ash cloud and develop a predictive model?
I hope they fare better than the UK Met Office who can not get a short term winter prognostication correct… even with their £30million supercomputer that consumes about the same amount of power as 1,000 homes.
They don’t say how is doing the research in the news. But it is not the UK Met Office how is doing this research on the ash cloud.

Interesting. There appears to be a earthquake swarm starting or is ongoing north of Kolbeinsey. Earthquakes appears to be getting quite frequent in that area.
I had to laugh a bit… £3,000,000, is that before the court case? Some investment tho’ perhaps. Apologies a bit OT.
