This earthquake swarm has increased the risk of a magnitude 6,0 or larger earthquake in the Tjörnes Fracture Zone. This earthquake swarm is large for this part of the Tjörnes Fracture Zone.
I’ve been following this via the earthquakes app and this is rather alarming. I know there is a dormant volcano close to here – could this indicate a possibility of an eruption?
The known volcanoes in this area are all quiet. There is no risk of an eruption.
