Today (6-January-2019). Largest earthquake in this swarm had a magnitude of 2,4. Other earthquakes have been smaller in magnitude.

This earthquake swarm seems to be ongoing. There are not many earthquakes happening as is normal for Öræfajökull volcano. This activity is in the normal range of what has been happening in Öræfajökull since 2017.

Hello Jón, I see pretty deep quakes at Oraëfajökull; deeper dan in former swarms.
What causes these deep earthquakes (magma?) and where can you place these deep earthquakes in the lifecycle of this volcano (between the first signs of unrest until an eruption)?

Deep earthquake activity suggests magma movement. When that is going to result in a shallower magma movements I don’t know.
I don’t think there it possible to place this in a life-cycle of a volcano. Since a life cycle of a volcano is often tens of millions of years.
There might be an earthquake swarm about to start on Reykjanes ridge not far off the coast (~160 km).
