This morning (15-October-2016) a minor earthquake swarm took place in Katla volcano (east part of the caldera). This was a minor earthquake swarm, with the largest earthquake having a magnitude of 2,7.

All of the earthquakes that took place where small. With the second largest earthquake only having a magnitude 2,3. After the main earthquake swarm was over the activity quieted down and has remained quiet. The main earthquake activity ended at 08:58 UTC this morning. With only few earthquakes taking place after that.
Conductivity is increasing aswell in múlakvísl, up to 140 now, don’t know if that’s around the normal range but it is increasing as we speak.
This confirms that the rifting process also involves the Katla. Earthquakes have involved both the Bárðarbunga that Katla.
No. They’re completely seperate.
Almost all Katla earthquakes are at 100m. Are they steam explosions?
No. But they might be connected to gas pressure changes.

These cluster are coming more regularly now, are they pulses and are they likely to get closer together before anything happens.
I know it’s largely a guessing game, apart from the appearance of harmonic tremor but it will be interesting with more sophisticated equipment to see if any long term pattern emerges on any of the equipment.
The swarms seem to, again, have shifted location within the caldera. The site of the M4.5 earthquakes and subsequent swarm was close to AUS station in the northeast of the caldera, while the swarm in late September/early October was focused to its central/southeastern parts (approximately the site of 1918 and 1823 eruptions). As for the activity during the last few days, we can see a shifting towards the site of the 1755 eruption.

IMO, we are a year or two away from this major eruption. When you see Russia and 7 other nations invading Israel, you will see Katla blow. Ez 38. Ridicule now, circle back later.

The story ends when after 2 years, Russia has NOT invaded Israel thru the Golan Heights with several other nations following which Katla erupts with a VE6-7 for at least 1 year in which the SO2 + H20 volume is larger than that of Laki 1783+. After than, End of Story and you can come back then and continue the ridicule and rudeness. Until then, you have no way of knowing if what I am saying is true or not. When you see burning sulphur described in End of Days prophecy such as Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 9, it is coming from Iceland.
It’s a load of bull. The bible is nonsense and there’s no god. Katla doesn’t do VEI 6+. Human actions can’t affect volcanoes. No one is invading Israel. We follow only SCIENCE on this site so take your superstitious crap out of here. We’ll happily prove you wrong when Katla has a normal VEI 4.
