Wow! Any news from IMO about this activity?
I think its dying out now..
It heard you and responded!
Another strong reading 22:20.
Judging by Jón’s webicorder, it’s two separate EQs – around M3
It’s one earthquake. The P and S wave appear clearly on my geophone in Böðvarshólar from TFZ. Anything above ~3.2 appears clearly on both geophones (not Denmark) in Iceland.
This EQ burst is proceeding like a runaway train at the moment, seemingly around an EQ per minute on average over the last couple of hours. If this continues over 48 hours, the total EQ count could top 2500. This must be quite irksome for local people to experience, particularly when there are multiple 3+ trembles during the night. The two earth scientists quoted by Iceland Magazine both feel the current activity could be prescursive to a 6+ EQ as happened in 1976 and 1910.
Here is an article in Icelandic with maps of the area. The volcano in this area is called Nafir and it doesn’t have a GVP profile. But it has clear view craters on the surface.

Thank you, Jón, the above ÍSOR link is fascinating.
The large earthquakes (3+) are getting shallower.
