On 19-January-2017 a magnitude 3,5 earthquake happened in Bárðarbunga volcano. This is a normal earthquake activity for Bárðarbunga volcano at the moment and happens just about weekly at the moment.

I don’t expect any activity outside of what has been happening for the last several months.
Jon is it normal for Iceland EQ activity to be so quiet while the Ring of Fire and The Mediterannean are extremely active?
Rift zones are sometimes more quiet than subduction zones. I don’t know why that appears to be that way.
I was going to write updates yesterday (21.01.2017), but things got delayed due to computer issues on the FreeBSD computer (server). I ran into problems when I was running security updates on it.
Little swarm now in Katla
Some activity at Katla, they have yet to update the EQ’s
There were a bunch (three) of deeper earthquakes in the Katla system late last night.
(http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/arg/png/myrdalsjokull_15d.png) None of them seem to suggest any greater inflow of magma, but enough to cause a swarm like this.
Biggest EQ in the swarm so far might be a green star, but probably closer to M2.5.
edit: Not late last night. It was around 18:15.
