Today (03-December-2015) a small earthquake swarm took place in Torfajökull volcano. This was a small earthquake swarm and none of the earthquakes did go above magnitude 2,0. Depth suggests that origins of this earthquake swarm can be traced to hydrothermal changes taking place in the volcano.

This type of earthquake activity happens in Torfajökull volcano since magma is at shallow depth in a wide area inside the caldera. Nothing else is expected to happen.
Hey Jon read one of the stories feel like I need a new chapter or continuation , is it a work in progress or are you just going to leave us in mid air????
If you mean the short story “The signal”. It is a work in progress. I’ve been having a minor issues finishing the story in my head and how to move it along properly. There is going to be a second and final part of the story, since I’ve merged the second and the third part into one story to make it easier to manage.
If you mean the story “Erased from time”, that story is part of a larger story universe that I’m creating. It is all going to fit together in the end.
Great to know about both stories. Could you send me an email address that I can send some thoughts and possible grammatical/spelling errors in the Signal, for your eyes only.. No big rush. I understand your life is hectic right now.
I did clear “The Signal” of most errors. But it was not properly written in terms of grammar. I know that now. I’m also using mixture of English (UK) and U.S English as the second form is popular in Iceland. I’ve been clearing that up in recent months so I’ve been making improvements to my English.

Currently there isn’t much happening in Iceland expect minor activity in terms of earthquakes so it is boring at the moment.

Is the current “quiet” any kind of indicator of something big to come? Seems like there has not been much over 3 in a few days. It also seems like there has been a concentration of activity around Bardarbunga over the past week , other than re inflation of the magma chamber is there any other cause for this? Also is there any cause for concern over the activity from Hekla to the ocean along the plate rift?

The quiet in Iceland is normal. There are also storms passing over Iceland at the moment, that makes detection of earthquakes more difficult.
Dear Jack (and Jón), I didn’t meen to be unkind,
every evening (just before going to sleep) I check Jón’s site to see if something happened to my favourite volcanoe (Katla) or the still restless Barđarbunga. I then expect to find comments on volcanoes.
And Jón, I understand you have to advertise to make a living, because it’s hard allready for you to survive in this expensive and unkind world!

There was no harm. I’m used to on-line criticism and I do welcome it (unlike many other Icelanders).
It has become more difficult to get good income from on-line content like this one. It is now so difficult that I don’t expect to get Google Adsense back on this website, since Google (or Alphabet as they are now called) has more red tape that many countries that I know of. Income from Google adsense today is also low and getting lower by each year.
In the future the comment section of my story website is going to be open. Until now I’ve had it closed, but that is about to change.
Any information that might indicate that something like the 7.1 quake off the Southeast Indian Ridge could relate to the swarms near Iceland or the lack of large activity in the north? For instance could the 7.1 relate to things being relatively quiet on the other side of the globe?
They are not connected. But this earthquake location is odd given it’s magnitude. Suggesting that the crust in this part of the Antarctica plate is thicker than normal oceanic crust.
Looks like it’ll hard to dectect tremors tomorrow (mon 7th) due to this nasty storm coming to Iceland.
