As I did mention in a blog post from 16. January 2012. Grímsfjall volcano is preparing for a new eruption. That progress has not slowed down at all. I am rather sure that the eruption prepare progress in Grímsfjall volcano has sped up. But this is nothing confirmed at the moment. I am just noticing slow increase in earthquakes from Grímsfjall volcano.

It is impossible to know for sure when next eruption starts in Grímsfjall volcano. But at the current time, the clock is ticking down faster then it did before in my opinion. As is known from history. Grímsfjall volcano has erupted sometimes the year after. Even after a big eruption. As was the case last year (2011), when it had the largest eruption in 140 years.

I am assuming this is approaching harmonic at the lower end for Grmsfall Jon? I had noticed new activity on the glacier, but didn’t think it sufficient to suggest anything imminent, although there is so much strain across Iceland it could in reality go anywhere at any time.
Have you any other data on this?
Jon, What is your view on Saurbaer? Is this weather-related?

It’s piking up again… http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/hekla/oroi_sau.html
This is due to an hardware failure or something like it. Not any activity from a volcano or such.
It seems that for now joins the party of SAU

It seems that it’s nothing serious, I think lack low frequency increased from 0.5 to 1 Hz
This might actually be because of an earthquake swarm in Hekla volcano. Just small one. It is hard to know what it means at the moment.
It seems that everything returns to normal, HAU

Earthquake south of Hekla.
The latest Ridley Scott movie Prometheus is coming to the movie houses.
Much of it was shot in Iceland.

hello everyone
hekla had three earthquakes in the two days, not too sure if it in the volcano itself or just near to it but the largest is at 2.1 mag and at 7.1 kms might mean magma is on the move. Hekla only gives a few hours warning before its erupts or none at all..
Frimann what do think is happern at hekla this morning could this lead to a eruption or are these earthquakes just happern part of a flault line near the volcano.
thankyou!! jack
Most of those quakes appear to be along existing fissure/fault lines. Is Grimsfjall displaying any harmonic tremor?
