Earthquake in Brennisteinsfjöll volcano

Yesterday (23-June 2024) at 22:42 UTC an earthquake with magnitude of Mw3,1 took place in Brennisteinsfjöll volcano.

Green star in Brennisteinfjöll volcano, that are located east of Kleifarvatn lake on Reykjanes peninsula. This is south of Reykjavík city. There are dots showing smaller earthquakes on Reykjanes peninsula.

There are no reports of this earthquake being felt. Aftershocks are a possibility in this part of Brennisteinsfjöll volcano.
