During the night (11-January-2016) few minor earthquakes took place in Hekla volcano. None of the earthquakes did go over magnitude 2,0.

No other activity has followed this earthquake activity. No change in harmonic tremor has been observed for the last 24 hours. At the moment this looks like a surface earthquakes due to some stress changes in the area of Hekla volcano.
Jon there seems to be a lot of activity off the North Coast , in the fracture zone these days. Can you explain is this normal for this area? or is there something going on there other than normal rift activity? And thanks for the info regarding our friends Bardarbunga , Loki and Hekla .
I’ve only been watching Icelandic earthquakes (and hence the Tjornes Fracture Zone) since 2012, so not nearly as long as Jón, but earthquake swarms have occurred frequently there over that period – in fact, probably more frequently there than anywhere else in the country.
The Tugnafellsjokull is a volcano with rhyolite magma (explosive); The Bárðarbunga to basaltic volcano (type: Hawaiian); what connection there is the activity of Both?
The volcanoes are not connected, but the risk is that Bárðarbunga volcano might push Tungnafellsjökull volcano into an eruption. So far that has not happened.
