Minor earthquake activity in Krafla volcano

Today (12-October-2019) during the night there was a small earthquake activity in Krafla volcano. This earthquake activity is minor and largest earthquake had a magnitude of Mw1,0 and all other earthquakes were smaller in magnitude.

There is a chance this earthquake activity is the result of water being pumped into the crust under high pressure. If that’s not the case this is just normal tectonic earthquake activity that sometimes happens in this area.

As I did explain here in this article my move to Denmark has hit a little problem. The problem is that my cost estimates were under the plan that I had and now I am currently in need of 375€ in order the pay for the cost of moving my belongings to Denmark. Any support to help me cover the remaining cost is welcomed. The sooner I can pay the transport cost the cheaper it is going to be for me, since storage charges are going to be added if I have to wait until 1st November to pay the transport cost of my belongings. This also delays me in many ways since all my hardware is now in transit and I can’t have access to it until I pay the transport cost of my belongings. Thanks for the support. 🙂

Minor earthquake swarm in Krafla volcano

On 7-December-2015 a minor earthquake swarm took place in Krafla volcano. The strongest earthquake in this swarm had the magnitude of 3,2. I don’t know if it was felt in nearby town. It was followed by few minor earthquakes, both before and after.

I don’t expect any more earthquake activity in Krafla volcano. At least not outside normal background activity.

Interesting earthquake swarm in TFZ

Today (12.12.2012) there was a interesting earthquake swarm in south part of TFZ (close to a place called Ásbyrgi). This earthquake swarm did consist mostly of minor earthquakes. With magnitudes of from ML0.2 and up to magnitude ML2.6. This earthquake swarm is tectonic in nature. I do not believe it is volcanic in nature. But this earthquake swarm is inside Krafla volcano fissure swarm or TFZ-NVZ two volcanoes. I am not sure in this case here.

This earthquake swarm might not mean anything special as is. But earthquake activity in this area has been some for the past few years. But it has so far never resulted in any major events so far in this area.
