{"id":8942,"date":"2021-02-27T15:12:48","date_gmt":"2021-02-27T15:12:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=8942"},"modified":"2021-02-27T15:12:48","modified_gmt":"2021-02-27T15:12:48","slug":"update-on-reykjanes-and-krysuvik-volcanoes-activity-at-1513-utc-on-27-february-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=8942","title":{"rendered":"Update on Reykjanes and Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edk volcanoes activity at 15:13 UTC on 27-February-2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a short update on the activity on <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=371020\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reykjanes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=371030\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edk<\/a> volcanoes.<\/p>\n<p>Largest earthquake in the last 24 hour had a magnitude of Mw5,2 at 08:17 UTC and this earthquake was felt over a wide area in west Iceland. Over the last 48 hours there have been 95 earthquakes with magnitude above Mw3,0. GPS is showing a lot of displacement and those information can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/strokkur.raunvis.hi.is\/gps\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. Copyright of this image belongs to Icelandic Met Office.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cracks have also formed in one road and other surface damage and other small damages have started to appear in buildings and roads on Reykjanes peninsula. There is going to be a storm in Iceland until early 2-March-2021.
