{"id":8153,"date":"2019-11-13T00:13:03","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T00:13:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=8153"},"modified":"2019-11-13T00:13:03","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T00:13:03","slug":"update-three-on-earthquake-activity-in-askja-volcano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=8153","title":{"rendered":"Update three on earthquake activity in Askja volcano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a short update on the earthquake activity in <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=373060\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Askja<\/a> volcano.<\/p>\n<p>Earthquake activity has now moved to a new phase in Askja volcano. This appears to be a rifting event taking place in Askja volcano. They do often result in a fissure eruption of lava and sometimes short lived volcano ash event. That <strong>might not happen<\/strong> and as of writing of this article no magma movement has been seen on nearby SIL stations.
