{"id":7689,"date":"2018-10-02T22:14:22","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T22:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=7689"},"modified":"2018-10-02T22:14:22","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T22:14:22","slug":"earthquake-activity-in-oraefajokull-and-bardarbunga-volcanoes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=7689","title":{"rendered":"Earthquake activity in \u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull and B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcanoes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is article is set-up in this way to save me some time due to the fact that I have to go to work tomorrow at 07:00 UTC (this is until 23rd October 2018).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull volcano<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since yesterday (01-October-2018) there has been a earthquake swarm in <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=374010\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull<\/a> volcano. There has been several dozen earthquakes in this earthquake swarm. Most of them are small. Largest earthquake in this swarm had a magnitude of 3,1 and was felt on nearby farms (there is no town or village close to \u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull volcano). This earthquake swarm is currently ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A magnitude 3,0 and 3,6 earthquakes happened in <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=373030\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga<\/a> volcano today. The smaller earthquake happened early in the morning but he larger one at 13:08 UTC. There hasn&#8217;t been any large amount of earthquake activity following this earthquakes.
