There might be missing eruptions because of lack of historical data. This list might not be completed from the reference that I am using.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year of eruption<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~870.<\/strong> Ash and lava flow eruption in Vatna\u00f6ldum. Settlers ash layer is created in Iceland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~900.<\/strong> Creation of a lava field named Afstapahraun.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~900 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~900.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1703-08=\">Krafla volcano<\/a> erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~900.<\/strong> Hallmundarhraun lava field is created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~900.<\/strong> Rau\u00f0h\u00e1lshraun lava field in Hnappadal is created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~905 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~920.<\/strong> Somwhere on the Reykjanes ridge. Location is unknown. But a ash layer is known from this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~920.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1702-03=\">Katla volcano<\/a> eruption. Ash layer named Katla-R.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~934.<\/strong> Katla volcano creates <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eldgj%C3%A1\">Eldgj\u00e1 volcano<\/a> fissure. Lava flow from Eldgj\u00e1 volcano fissure flows over \u00c1lftaver, Me\u00f0alland and Landbrot. M\u00fdrdalssandur is sad to have been created in this eruption by a big flood from M\u00fdrdalsj\u00f6kuli following this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~940.<\/strong> In Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier or in Vei\u00f0iv\u00f6tnum. Ash from this eruption has been found in north-east Iceland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 999 or 1000.<\/strong> Sv\u00ednahraun lava field is created in a volcano eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1000.<\/strong> Katla volcano eruption. Ash layer has been found. There is a written account of the flood that followed this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1060.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kli glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1104.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1702-07=\">Hekla volcano<\/a> erupts it&#8217;s first documented eruption in Iceland. This eruptions sends ash to north and north-east. The valley of \u00dej\u00f3rs\u00e1rdalur is destroyed by volcano ash in this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1151.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1701-03=\">Kr\u00fdsuv\u00edk volcano<\/a> erupts. This eruption creates the lava field \u00d6gmundarhraun and Kapellahraun lava field. Tr\u00f6lladyngja is also created in this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1158.<\/strong> Eruption in Hekla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1160.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1160 &#8211; 1180.<\/strong> Eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Two eruptions on the Reykjanes Ridge. Ash layer is known from this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1179.<\/strong> Katla volcano eruption. Written accounts are unclear. But ash from this eruption has been found in Greenland glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1188 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Rj\u00fapnadyngjuhraun and M\u00e1vahl\u00ed\u00f0arhraun lava fields are created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1206.<\/strong> Hekla volcano erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1210 &#8211; 1211.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Eldey is created in this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1222.<\/strong> Hekla eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1223.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Location unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1225.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Location unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1226 &#8211; 1227.<\/strong> Several volcano eruptions on the Reykjanes. The following lava fields are belvied to have been created in this eruption, Younger Stampahraun, (Klofningahraun), Eldvarpahraun, Illahraun and Arnarseturshraun. At the same time a large ash eruption takes place at Reykjanest\u00e1. The middle age ash layer is created in this volcano eruption. This volcano eruption created a lot of problems for the local population.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1231.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Location unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1238.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Location unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1240.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Location unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1245.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Katla volcano. This eruptions comes up at S\u00f3lheimaj\u00f6kli. Flood follows this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1262.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Katla volcano. This eruption is in S\u00f3lheimaj\u00f6kli. It creates a flood and is followed by a heavy ash fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1300 &#8211; 1301.<\/strong> Hekla volcano eruption. A lot of ash fall in Skagafj\u00f6\u00f0ur, a famine followed this eruption due to ash fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1311.<\/strong> A volcano eruption in Katla volcano. Heavy ash fall in east of Iceland (austfj\u00f6r\u00f0um). A big flood followed this eruption, it was most likely on M\u00fdrdalssandi. But written accounts are unclear and unreliable on what did happen.The following year was followed by a famine with death of both people and animals due too volcano ash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1332.<\/strong> A volcano eruption in Vatnaj\u00f6kli glacier. Most likely in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1703-01=\">Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1340 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Eruption in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1701-04=\">Brennisteinsfj\u00f6llum volcano<\/a>. But no lava field from 14th century have been found however.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1341.<\/strong> Hekla volcano eruption. Heavy ash fall. The ash did go to Borgarfj\u00f6r\u00f0 and Akranes. A lot of animal did die. Many farms in Rang\u00e1rv\u00f6llum where abandoned following this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1341 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1354 &#8211; ?.<\/strong> Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1357.<\/strong> A large eruption in Katla volcano. A lot of damage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1362.<\/strong> A large eruption in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1704-01=\">\u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull volcano<\/a>. It did destory the county of Litla-H\u00e9ra\u00f0 and most likely all people how lived there did die. Most of the ash fall was into the ocean. But some of it did go to Hornafir\u00f0i and in L\u00f3nshverfi. A glacier flood did go down Skei\u00f0\u00e1rsand and out to the ocean.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1372.<\/strong> North-west of Gr\u00edmsey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1389 &#8211; 1390.<\/strong> Around Hekla volcano. Several farms did go under lava field in this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1416.<\/strong> Eruption in Katla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1422.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere off the Reykjanes. Creates a island that lasts for few years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1440.<\/strong> Eruption in or around Hekla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1477.<\/strong> Volcano eruption on a long fissure in Vei\u00f0iv\u00f6tnum lakes and it reaches the western part of Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1480 &#8211; ~1500.<\/strong> Katla volcano has eruption. Few written accounts of this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1500.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kli glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1510.<\/strong> A large eruption in Hekla volcano. This eruption creates the largest known historical lava field from Hekla volcano. A heavy ash fall too the south takes place. A lot of destruction in Rangarvall\u00e1rs\u00fdsla follows it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1554.<\/strong> A eruption South-West of Hekla volcano. This eruption lasts about six weeks. Created craters called Rau\u00f0ubjallar and from them a lava field called P\u00e1lssteinshraun.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1580.<\/strong> Katla volcano erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year ~1582.<\/strong> Somewhere close to Eldey is a eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1597.<\/strong> A eruption in Hekla volcano started 3. January. Ash fall did happen but did not create a lot of damage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1598.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1603.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1612.<\/strong> Eruption in Katla volcano and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1702-02=\">Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano<\/a>. A volcano eruption did start on 12. October in Katla volcano. But it unclear when the eruption did start in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1619.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjalla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1625.<\/strong> Eruption starts in Katla volcano. The eruption started on the 2. September and it ended on the 25. September. This was a large eruption that did destroy 25 farms. Most the ash fall was to the east in this eruption. First report about volcano eruption is written in about this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1629.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1636 &#8211; 1637.<\/strong> Eruption in Hekla volcano starts 8. May and is ongoing for about one year. Little ash and little damage from this volcano eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1637 &#8211; 1638.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in the neighbourhood of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1702-01=\">Vestmannaeyjar volcano<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1638.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1655.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier. Most likely in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1703-05=\">Kverkfj\u00f6llum volcano<\/a>. A large glacier flood took place in J\u00f6kuls\u00e1 \u00e1 fj\u00f6llum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1659.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1660 &#8211; 1661.<\/strong> Katla volcano eruption did start on the 3. November and lasted over the new year. Not a lot of ash fall. But a large glacier flood. It did destroy the farm called H\u00f6f\u00f0abrekka.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1681.<\/strong> Somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kuli glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1684 &#8211; 1685.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. A large glacier flood in J\u00f6kuls\u00e1 \u00e1 fj\u00f6llum. One man did die along with large number of livestock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1693.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Hekla volcano. This eruption did start on the 13. February. A lot of the ash did go to north-west. The ash fall did create a heavy damage in the nearby area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1693.<\/strong> Katla volcano erupts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1697.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull volcano glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1702.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull volcano glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1706.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull volcano glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1711 &#8211; 1712.<\/strong> Eruption in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1721.<\/strong> Eruption in Katla volcano. Heavy ash fall, volume of ash is estimated 1 km\u00b3 and large glacier flood follows this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1724 &#8211; 1729.<\/strong> Krafla volcano eruption. This eruption creates the crater V\u00edti when lava did flow into M\u00fdvatn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1725.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull volcano glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1725.<\/strong> Eruption takes place south-east of Hekla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1726.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull volcano glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1727.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in \u00d6r\u00e6faj\u00f6kull volcano. Three people did die in this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1729.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1746.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Krafla volcano. Only one eruption documented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1753.<\/strong> Eruption takes place south-west of Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1755 &#8211; 1756.<\/strong> A eruption starts in Katla volcano on the 17. October. A heavy ash fall that is estimated to have been 1,5 km\u00b3 drifts to the north-east and creates heavy damage in it&#8217;s path. A large glacier flood goes down M\u00fdrdalssand. It flows mostly west of Hafursey. Two men die due to lightning strike. About 50 farms where abounded temporary due to this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1766.<\/strong> Eruption in the western part of Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier. Most likely in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1703-03=\">B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1766.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Hekla volcano. The ash cloud drifts to H\u00fana\u00feings counties and Skagafjar\u00f0ar. Ten farms where abandoned following this eruption due to the ash cloud.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1774.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1783.<\/strong> Eruption on the Reykjanes Ridge. Creates a new island named N\u00fdey. It is not far from Eldey. But it disappears soon after it&#8217;s creation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1783 &#8211; 1784.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Laki\">Skaft\u00e1reldar<\/a> take place. A long with a eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. Lava flows over a area of the size 580 km\u00b2. Volcano gasses and did create famine and shortage of green grass for live stock around most of Iceland. Effects of this eruption was felt over in Europe and most of northern hemisphere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1797.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1807.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1816.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1821.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Katla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1821 &#8211; 1823.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano. This eruption started on the 19. December and was mostly ash fall. A glacier flood did go down Markarflj\u00f3t.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1823.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1830.<\/strong> Eruption takes place somewhere in the area of Eldeyjarbo\u00f0a.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1838.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1845 &#8211; 1846.<\/strong> Eruption starts in Hekla volcano on the 2. September. A lava flow covers 25 km\u00b2 area. Heavy ash fall follows this eruption. The farm N\u00e6furholt was moved following this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1854.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1860.<\/strong> Eruption in Katla volcano. This eruption is small.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1861.<\/strong> Most likely a eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano that year. But it is uncertain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1862 &#8211; 1864.<\/strong> A eruption starts on the 15 km long fissure north of Tungna\u00e1rj\u00f6kuls. It creates a crater rows called Tr\u00f6llag\u00edgar and a lava field called Tr\u00f6llahraun. The volcano responsible for this eruption is B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1867.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1867 &#8211; 1868.<\/strong> Volcano eruption around or creates M\u00e1nareyjar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1872.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1873.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1874.<\/strong> Askja volcano erupts. Eruption may have started in February, when steam clouds where first seen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1875.<\/strong> Askja volcano erupts. A lava eruption did start on 3. January. A <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Caldera\">caldera<\/a> starts to form later in January following this eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1875.<\/strong> A 25 km long fissure opens 18. February and lasted until middle of August. This is believed to be a dike intrusion from Askja volcano that did get up to the surface.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1875.<\/strong> The largest eruption in history of Iceland started on the 28. March and lasted for about 8 hours. In this eruption the crater V\u00edti erupted and other caters. There was a heavy ash fall in east of Iceland. This did destroy many farms in the east of Iceland. The Askja lake was created in this eruption. Many other eruption where documented in the following months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1876.<\/strong> The eruption from Askja volcano is believed to have ended in that year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1876.<\/strong> Eruption somewhere in Vatnaj\u00f6kli glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1878.<\/strong> Eruption in Krak\u00e1rtindur east of Hekla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1879.<\/strong> Eruption close to Geirfulgasker.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1883.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1884.<\/strong> Somewhere around Eldey. Poorly documented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1885.<\/strong> Most likely a eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. But it is poorly documented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1887.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1889.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1892.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1896.<\/strong> Eruption most likely south of Vestmannaeyjar volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1897.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year December 1902 &#8211; June 1903.<\/strong> Eruption in B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano. Eruption possibly in Dyngjuh\u00e1ls, exact location is unknown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1902 &#8211; 1904.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1905 &#8211; 1906.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1908 &#8211; 1908.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1910 June 18 &#8211; October 1910.<\/strong> Eruption in Loki-F\u00f6grufj\u00f6ll (Hamarinn volcano).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1910.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. Ash fall is documented from June to November in east of Iceland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1913<\/strong>. Eruption east of Hekla volcano in a area named Mundafell \/ Lambafell.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1918.<\/strong> Katla volcano erupts. This eruption started 12. October and did finish 5. November. The ash cloud did go up to 14,3 km high into the air. A large glacier flood did go down M\u00fdrdalssand. People was in danger. A lot of live stock got lost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1921.<\/strong> Askja volcano. Small fissure eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1922.<\/strong> Askja volcano. Small fissure eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1922.<\/strong> Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano started erupting in September. This eruption did finish in less then a month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1923.<\/strong> Askja volcano. Small fissure eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1923.<\/strong> Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano eruption. Small eruption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1926.<\/strong> Askja volcano eruption. Creates a small island in \u00d6skjuvatni lake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1926.<\/strong> Around Eldey. Boiling ocean reported for few hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1927<\/strong>. Around <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/world\/volcano.cfm?vnum=1704-02=\">Esjufj\u00f6ll volcano<\/a>. But poorly documented and uncertain because of that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1929.<\/strong> Eruption in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano. The volcano eruption was observed during the summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1933.<\/strong> Minor eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1934.<\/strong> Eruption started in the middle March and lasted until middle of April in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1938.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. Was on the north part of the caldera. But did not break trough the glacier ice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1941.<\/strong> Eruption might have taken place in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1945.<\/strong> Eruption might have taken place in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1947 &#8211; 1948.<\/strong> A eruption starts in Hekla volcano on the 29. March. The ash cloud goes up to 30 km. The ash cloud goes to the south. The lava flow had the size of 0,8 km\u00b3. Most of it did go the west and south-west from Axlarg\u00fdg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1954.<\/strong> Possible eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1955.<\/strong> Possible small eruption in Katla volcano. Small glacier flood from M\u00fdrdalsj\u00f6kli.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1961.<\/strong> A fissure eruption started on the 26. October in Askja volcano on a 300 meter long fissure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1963 &#8211; 1967.<\/strong> Eruption in the Vestmannaeyjar volcano system. Surtsey island is formed south of Geirfulgaskeri. Few smaller island are also created. But disappear quickly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1970.<\/strong> Eruption in Hekla volcano started on 5. May. Most of the ash fall was to NNW and into H\u00fanavatnss\u00fdslur. The eruption the mountain only lasted for few days. But the eruption in Skj\u00f3lkv\u00edum the eruption lasted for about two months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1973.<\/strong> A volcano eruption starts in Vestmanneyjar volcano. A 1600 meter long fissure opens close to the town of Vestmanneyjar. About the third of the town did go under lava and about 400 houses where destroyed. This created Eldfell and Heimaey did grow to the east.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1975.<\/strong> Krafla volcano eruption starts on 20. December. A short fissure opens on close to Leirhnj\u00fak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1977.<\/strong> Krafla volcano eruption starts on 27. April, it ends on 29. April.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1977.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts. Eruption starts on 8. September, it ends on 9. September.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1980.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts on 16. March.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1980.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts. Volcano erupts starts on 10. July, it sends on 18. July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1980.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts. The eruption starts on 18. October and is to 23. October.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1981.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts. The eruption starts on 30. January and it sends on 4. February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1981.<\/strong> Krafla volcano erupts. The eruption starts on 18. November. It ends on 23. November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1980 &#8211; 1981.<\/strong> Hekla volcano erupts. The eruption started on 17. August, it lasted until 20. August. The eruption did resume on the 9. April the year later (1981) and did most likely end on 18. April.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1983.<\/strong> Eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano in the end of May.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1984.<\/strong> A most likely a minor eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1984.<\/strong> Eruption in Krafla volcano. It starts on 4. September and it sends 18. September.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1985.<\/strong> Most likely a minor eruption in Lokahrygg in Vatnaj\u00f6kli glacier. Harmonic tremor is recorded and a caldera forms in the glacier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1991.<\/strong> Eruption starts in Hekla volcano on the 17. January. The power of the eruption quickly vanish. One crater remains active until 17. March. Little ash was in this eruption. Considerable amount of lava did flow south of Hekla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1996.<\/strong> Eruption on a fissure between B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano and Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. This eruption started on 30. September on a 4 to 5 km long fissure. This eruption lasted until 30. October. The earthquake swarm did indicate the dike intrusion from B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano. Water that was melted in this eruption did flow to Gr\u00edmsvatna in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. The drain did happen on 5. November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1998.<\/strong> Volcano eruption in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano did start on 18. December. It lasted until 28. December.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 1999.<\/strong> Small volcano eruption takes place in S\u00f3lheimaj\u00f6kli glacier in the Katla volcano. Small glacier flood follows. The eruption does not break the surface of the glacier ice. This happens on 17. July. Earthquake swarm follows this event with largest earthquakes that are up to ML3.0 in size. Harmonic tremor is seen on seismometers around Katla volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2000.<\/strong> Eruption did start in Hekla volcano on the 26. February. It lasted until 8. March. Little ash did follow this eruption. Lava flow was not considerable large.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2004.<\/strong> Eruption did start in Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano on 4. November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2010.<\/strong> Eruption starts in <a href=\"http:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=372020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull<\/a> volcano after a large earthquake swarm in it. The first phase of the eruption takes place in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fimmv%C3%B6r%C3%B0uh%C3%A1ls\">Fimmv\u00f6r\u00f0uh\u00e1lsi<\/a> when a eruption starts there on 20. March. A eruption starts in the main crater on Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano on 14. April. A ash clouds follows it along with a glacier flood that goes down Markarflj\u00f3t. Some damage takes place in this eruption the nearby area of Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2011.<\/strong> Largest eruption in 140 years <a href=\"http:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=373010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gr\u00edmsfjall<\/a> volcano start on May 21. It ended on May 25. The ash cloud coming from the eruption was the largest one in the past 140 years from Gr\u00edmsfjall volcano. No glacier flood did take place in this eruption. The eruption started around 17:30 UTC. But the first steam cloud was not observed until around 18:32 UTC. The ash cloud did reach the hight of 20 km. But did soon drop down to 10 km. Three days after the eruption did start it did loose power at fast rate and was over on May 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2011:<\/strong> Katla volcano had a subglacier eruption in July. This is the second eruption of the year 2011 in Iceland. A glacier flood followed this minor eruption of Katla volcano. The eruption started on 8th of July and ended on 9th July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2011:<\/strong> Hamarinn volcano might have (most likely) had a eruption week after Katla volcano. Glacier flood followed this minor eruption of Hamarinn volcano. The eruption ended 13 July. Total eruption time was around 12 to 14 hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 2014.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=373030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga<\/a> volcano<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two eruptions in the period of 16 &#8211; 22-August-2014. Exact time and date not known at the moment. Each eruption lasted for up to 24 hours at most.<\/li>\n<li>Eruption 23-August-2014 under the glacier. Lasted for ~6 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Eruption 29-August-2014 in Holuhraun. Lasted for ~4 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Eruption 31-August-2014, it ended on 27-Februar-2015. It lasted for almost 6 months.<\/li>\n<li>It is not clear how many minor eruptions have taken place under the glacier. Only documented eruptions are mentioned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Year 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=372030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Katla<\/a> volcano.<br \/>\nStart date: 29-July<br \/>\nEnd date: 29-July<\/p>\n<p>A minor eruption took place in Katla volcano during the night of 29-July. It only lasted for 2 to 3 hours and was not visible and did not break trough the glacier.
