The area is question is slightly outside of B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano fissure swarm but seems to be connected to the main volcano.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/180121_1650.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/180121_1650.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"596\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/180121_1650.png 540w, https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/180121_1650-272x300.png 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe earthquakes south-east of B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano. <em>Copyright of this image belongs to Icelandic Met Office.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Largest earthquake only had magnitude 1,2 and the shallowest depth was only 13,9 km with a magnitude 0,8 earthquake. The risk of an eruption in this area is increasing, but it is not possible to know when a eruption might happen.
