This type of earthquake activity is now common in B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano after the 2014 (August) &#8211; 2015 (February) eruption. The magnitude 4,1 earthquake in B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano was the largest earthquake in this swarm, second largest earthquake had a magnitude of 2,8 and happened several hours before.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171209_1410.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171209_1410.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"596\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171209_1410.png 540w, https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171209_1410-272x300.png 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe earthquake activity in B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano is marked by the green star. <em>Copyright of this image belongs to Icelandic Met Office.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This earthquake activity is located in the south part of the B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano caldera. Not far from cauldrons (at least two) that are now highly active in hydrothermal activity. If that is going to result in any glacier flood is not known at the moment, but the biggest chance is that the water levels are low at this locations at least for now.
