The first phase of the eruption was a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hawaiian_eruption\">Hawaiian type eruption<\/a> that took place in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fimmv%C3%B6r%C3%B0uh%C3%A1ls\">Fimmv\u00f6r\u00f0uh\u00e1ls<\/a>. But that area is glacier free and is part of Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano system. On 31.03.2010 a second fissure did open close the first one that had been erupting for about two weeks by then.<\/p>\n<p>The explosive phase of the eruption in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano started on April 13th 2010. But I am going to write more about that when the day comes (I hope). That eruption did not end until late May and since then Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano has resumed it&#8217;s dormant status.
