This time it only appears to have been just a one earthquake. Based on the signature of this earthquake, there is a good chance it was created by magma, rather than tectonic processes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/160531_1635.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/160531_1635.png\" alt=\"160531_1635\" width=\"540\" height=\"596\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/160531_1635.png 540w, https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/160531_1635-272x300.png 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nB\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano earthquake. <em>Copyright of this image belongs to Iceland Met Office.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I expect this earthquake activity to continue for a while now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tj\u00f6rnes Fracture Zone (TFZ)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A small earthquake swarm took place in eastern TFZ this morning. This was not a large earthquake swarm, with the largest earthquake having the magnitude 2,0.
