{"id":5491,"date":"2015-02-06T19:05:07","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T19:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=5491"},"modified":"2015-02-06T19:05:07","modified_gmt":"2015-02-06T19:05:07","slug":"bardarbunga-volcano-update-for-06-february-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/?p=5491","title":{"rendered":"B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano update for 06-February-2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This update is going to be slightly shorter than usual because I am sick (I got flu at the moment).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Over the past two weeks there has been considerable drop in the lava lake.<\/li>\n<li>Lavafall was seen on new images (in the one of the lava rivers) in Holuhraun yesterday (05-February-2015).<\/li>\n<li>Earthquake activity in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volcano.si.edu\/volcano.cfm?vn=373030\" target=\"_blank\">B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga<\/a> volcano continues to drop.\u00a0 It continues to be classified as considerable.<\/li>\n<li>GPS data show that the area around B\u00e1r\u00f0arbunga volcano continues to subside towards the volcano.<\/li>\n<li>The eruption in Holuhraun might end in 5 &#8211; 12 months, there is also a chance it might go on for years at low level. There is no way to know for sure.<\/li>\n<li>Sulfur dioxide pollution continues to be a problem in Iceland. Depending on wind direction.
