Earthquake activity is not common in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano, but it does happen once in a while. This does not mean the volcano is about to erupt, this was just an earthquake swarm taking place. No earthquake reached the magnitude 2,0 in this earthquake swarm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/140514_1935.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/140514_1935.jpeg\" alt=\"140514_1935\" width=\"540\" height=\"596\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/140514_1935.jpeg 540w, https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/140514_1935-271x300.jpeg 271w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe earthquake swarm in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano (red dots at north-east part of Vatnaj\u00f6kull glacier). <em>Copyright of this image belongs to Icelandic Meteorological Office.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are no clues to why this earthquake swarm took place. This might have been a magma injection in the volcano, or this might just have been a change in the highly active hydrothermal areas in the volcano. There was no change at all in harmonic tremors in the volcano during this earthquake swarm. Kverkfj\u00f6ll web-camera can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/vedur2.mogt.is\/kverkfjoll\/webcam\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, it has however not updated since 1-May-2014. I am not sure if this means anything for Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano, as such I am just waiting too see what happens next in Kverkfj\u00f6ll volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donations:<\/strong> Please remember to donate to support my work.
