The magnitude of this earthquake was 0.8. It had the depth of 14.9 km. But that is among the deepest that happens in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano. But before and during the eruption of Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano in the year 2010 the most depth of earthquake detected at that time was around 30 km.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/120911_1915.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/120911_1915.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"120911_1915\" width=\"540\" height=\"642\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2929\" srcset=\"https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/120911_1915.jpeg 540w, https:\/\/icelandgeology.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/120911_1915-252x300.jpeg 252w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe earthquake in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano. <em>Copyright of this image belongs to Icelandic Meteorological Office.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I do not expect this earthquake to mean anything. This is just single earthquake that now happen from time to time in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano. But after the eruption in the year 2010 there has almost been no earthquake activity in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volcano ash from Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even if there are now two years since the eruption in Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano the local area continues to have problems with volcano ash from it. In certain wind direction the volcano ash is blown up and carried out to the sea. This wind direction is mostly when wind is blowing from north and does not carry any snow or rain with it. So today and maybe in next few days. The local people that live in the area around Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull volcano to live in ash cloud from the eruption two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>I did try to find an MODIS picture of this volcano ash storm.
